Quick description: An uncompromising book of poetry about the Holocaust
In June of 2009 Kirk Miles won the Writers Guild of Alberta Screenwriters Award for a screenplay entitled Shadow Maker. Author of three books of poetry, the most recent, Hotel on the Cliffs on the Heart, was published in May of 2013. In 2011 Kirk won the Golden Beret Award, a lifetime achievement award in poetry presented by the Calgary International Spoken Word Festival. Moving Dust, a collection of poems about the Holocaust was published in the summer of 2015. Kirk has been nominated twice for the Calgary Poet Laureate position and last year he was short-listed.
